Fitness CenterCompleted in March of 2006, the Greater Buffalo Fitness Center features state-of-the-art health equipment in a unique atmosphere. Its location on the second floor of the Greater Buffalo Gymnastics Center provides a panoramic view of our entire gymnasium where parents can stay fit themselves, as they watch their child's gymnastic class below. The fitness center was designed with today's busy families in mind and is able to provide a time saving, healthy alternative for parents whose children are participating in gymnastics, dance, martial arts or enrolled in childcare at our complex. The air-conditioned center is big enough to offer machines that target all body parts, yet small enough for personal training and one-on-one attention. The fitness center is highlighted by Life Fitness cardio machines that overlook the gym, 14 body part specific stations, a Hammer Strength free weight area and a certified personal trainer. All of our equipment is brand new and combines the safest practices and the most effective range of motion with the smoothest operation. The Greater Buffalo Fitness Center is also an approved member of Independent Health's Flex Fit program and the John Hancock employee Stay Fit reimbursement program.

Along with your health investment, any fitness membership will also include an equipment orientation. In order to begin using the fitness center, you are required to tour the gym so that you get proper training on using the equipment safely. This can be done by setting up an appointment with our office. You will be shown piece by piece what part of the body each machine works, the proper tecnique to have while using each piece of equipment and, what settings will work best for your body type.
Assessments and Personal Training can be obtained by setting up an appointment with our qualified trainer!
The Fitness Assessment will be used to determine your current state of health. Measurements of weight, blood pressure, body fat percentage and posture will be taken to accuratly determine where you stand health-wise. This will help in planning future courses of action for a work out routine.
Before planning a work your work out routine, it is importiant to first determine what your goals are. Whether it is cardio stamina, weight loss, flexibility or muscle toning, we can develop an excercise routine to correspond to your health goals. Fall Season Fitness Hours
The Greater Buffalo Fitness Center is available for Per Time Use and Membership use any time the building is open. Our regularly scheduled summer hours are as follows:
* If we will be offering additional hours on a Saturday, Sunday or during a break, those dates and times will be posted on our events calendar. Please feel free to come in and work out during those posted times if you are a current fitness member with a valid entry key. |
