Gymnast ResponsibilitiesDressing AppropriatelyGirls: A leotard, with or without tights, or shorts and a T-shirt. Socks must be worn during class (gymnastics slippers are suitable for classes, but are not a required purchase). Also make sure that hair must be tied back away from the face with small hairpins, rubber bands or scrunchies. Please do not tie hair back with hard plastic or metal clips or barrettes, they may injure the head when performing certain skills. Boys: Shorts and a T-shirt. Socks must be worn during class (gymnastics slippers are suitable for classes, but are not a required purchase). As colder weather approaches sweat pants and shirts may be substituted for shorts and T-shirts, but at no time should loose or tight fitting clothing should be worn. Make sure that there are no belts, buckles, or large snaps on any piece of clothing you intend to wear. Participating in bare feet is not acceptable. Tights or Ballet slippers are not a substitute for socks. The only acceptable jewelry that may be worn while participating are post earrings. All watches, necklaces, rings, bracelets, and other jewelry should be left at home, but must be removed before entering the gym area. Our locker rooms are not meant to provide security for these items, so Greater Buffalo Gymnastics Center takes no responsibility for lost items. Being respectful of everything and everyone in the facility.Anyone found disrespecting equipment or property in the facility (sitting in sinks, hanging on partitions, kicking or slamming doors, etc) before or during class will be excused from class that day. No food, drinks or gum in the gym, locker rooms, or balcony areas. |
