Parent Responsibilities - Click here to Download the 2008-2009 parents HandbookA pre-participation physical for all students is not required but, is recommendedFollowing parking lot protocolParents should park in the allotted parking spaces then escort the children into the building. When picking a child up please follow the same steps, parking, entering the building, and escorting the child out to the car. Parking around the retention ponds and curbs is strictly prohibited by the Town of Amherst. These are fire lane access area's and can not be blocked. Following these guidlines is the best way to ensure the safety of everyone entering and exiting the facility. Making sure gymnasts arrive promptly for each classPlease do not drop off your child any more than 5 minutes ahead of the scheduled start time, and be on time when picking your child up. We are not able to provide staff to ensure the safety of your child for extended periods of time before or after the scheduled class time. If you will be late dropping off or picking up your child please notify the gym office. Maintaining gym boundariesParents, siblings, and friends of children are NOT permitted to enter the gym at any time for any reason. Parent viewing is always available, and encouraged from the Parent Waiting Room on any class day. Observation Days will be noted in upcoming newsletters, during which you can view classes from our balcony. If you choose to view a class in either of the viewing areas please be advised of the following:
Being aware of upcoming events and deadlinesWatch the Parents Board located in the lobby of the building (the oak display board) for calendar of events and closings and bimonthly newsletters which will be passed out to the children. These are our main sources of communication with parents, so please be sure to check it often. Following gym protocolPlease feel free to inquire about your child's progress in the office at anytime during the year. Most teachers have consecutive classes to teach, so they are unable to speak with any parents between classes. Please leave a message with the office and they will contact you regarding your child's progress. |
